Generosity

“Give more than you wish to, and you shall receive double in return”.

“The hand that gives is better than the hand that asks”.

Don’t we often hear our elders preaching us such good habits since our toddlerhood?

This is the virtue of generosity!

Generosity is a feature that has been granted to both humans as well as animals. It reflects a kind heart.

Some people might be generous from a tender age, while some might not have developed that feeling. But this a feeling that needs to be encouraged in children right at a tender age.

Initially, specially, as a child, we are forced to give something and that does not make us happy. If you ask children kindly, they would be more than willing to give to you and that is such a cute act.

However the request made has got to be reasonable of course!

No one has ever become poor by being generous. Instead, our value increases immensely! People respect and appreciate us.

A simple smile is the most foundational step to generosity. It cost us nothing yet the satisfaction of having delivered it brings us more in return. And it is such an action that triggers immediate response, even from a stranger.

In moments of dire need, our generous acts can save someone.
For example, paying a child bus’s fare, buying school materials for a student, giving a helping hand to a father to feed his family, a classmate who needs homework or notes.

Generosity need not necessarily involve monetary factor. Our hand-down clothes bring happiness. Helping an old person cross the road, assist someone who has fallen or had an accident, aid your neighbour carry her grocery bag, share your lunch box with friends at school, few vegetables and fruits shared during Corona lock down.

At school, the fun and happiness of sharing our goodies with not only friends, but even the driver, conductor, teachers and the peons.

That simple generous act builds their respect for us, and a trustworthy relationship is established.

A fundamental generous word that we skip sometimes or just take for granted: Thank you!

True, even generosity has its own limits. It should not be taken as our weakness.

If someone asks you, “Can you give me your house and/or bank account?”
Would you?

Obviously, you are going to refuse!

However, that does not prevent us from being generous in a way that is convenient to us and not bring any harm either.

Being rich does not give you the right to rule over people. Generosity is a feeling that should come from the heart, not a calculative move nor a boisterous one. It should neither make the person feel inferior or at our mercy, but generosity should make the receiver feel honoured and loved.

Hence, why don’t we all together stand fortified in our hearts and develop the eminent quality to be more generous and kind to anyone and everyone we meet :
Be it human, animal or nature...

Chirpy Chirpy Cheeps

Birds, are they immaterial to us? Or do they bring significance to our lives? Birds, an important factor in everyone's life, can make even the grumpiest person on earth twitch a smile. They have a distinctive feature that makes them unique compared to any other species. What female hawks can do to keep their children protected is enormous, a bit what our own mothers would do for us...hmmm The amazingly-colored birds brighten up places. No wonder, the very thought of Amazon forest displays an array of colourful fowls to our imagination. Hearing their cheerful chirps make time peaceful, oh! but then, we also have the croaked-voice crow. Their adorable body structures, their wonderful techniques of making people happy are astounding. Some even say that they are used as therapy for young children who have speech problems. What a blessing God sent us! Singing and chirping have always been the characteristics of birds. This is what defines them and distinguish them ...

TREES

Green, vivid, beautiful, and cooling freshness. That is a tree! It provides us with oxygen, it brightens up places with a colourful charm.  A tree plays different roles in different seasons. During autumn , it lets down leaves of all colours for people to admire while they flow around. In spring , it grows a new family of leaves and flowers for everyone to admire and feel vivid. In summer , the fruits are mature, fleshy and sumptuous enough for us to relish on. During winter , the trees fold inside to protect themselves from the icy cold and even the frigid snow. And this process continues smoothly.  Trees need water, sunlight and carbon dioxide, which in some way, makes them related to us. Rather than related I should say interdependent as we need oxygen whereas they need the carbon dioxide. Hence we co-live! A very realistic picture is that when a child starts drawing, he/she generally starts by drawing a blessing of nature—a flower; then gradually...

Them.

I've met this person, a pure soul. They make me happy, in a way that I dont even understand myself. They radiate brightness and they're my little yellow lady When it comes to them, I truly run out of words because even words cannot start to describe how amazing they are. When I sit down and try to pen down all the emotions I feel for them, to try and make it poetry, I discover that I cannot,  because neither my mind nor my soul will let me use something as mere as words to describe them. Words are very powerful, but they crumble in face of them. They are truly happiness They make my heart flutter in joy and make my stomach drop dead They are romantic and sweet They write poetry in my name and I can't find anything cuter Their smile is the shiniest thing in the world Their eyes are ones I could stare at forever and fall into its depths even if it meant no return Their face of calmness as they lay on my lap and i stroke their hair Their hugs are those that make...
