‘I pledge
that’… ‘this is my oath’… ‘I vow’… ‘you have my word of honour’.
Why do we
use such sophisticated words and try to convince someone that we are actually
going to live up to it.
Why try to
fake it and give false hope.
People will
understand and appreciate it better if you genuinely tell them the truth.
Simply admit, ‘I’m sorry, but I can’t do this’.
BUT, that does not mean you don’t try
at all. Do your best and who knows, you might even succeed and God might assist
with his divine powers if your intentions are honest.
Giving false
hope to someone is similar to backstabbing them.
Why does
breaking a promise give us a feeling of betrayal?
Well, first
off, you break someone’s hope and at the same time, you risk your own
reputation.
Honestly,
tell me? Do you want to be known as a “promise-breaker”?
A promise is
the symbol of your trustworthiness.
It is the thin and frail road on which we all tread to
develop a good relationship.
A light blow can break this very road instantly
and many a times, it is a no-return from that point.
The global and
general definition of a promise is: ‘A declaration or assurance that one will
do something’.
So, I
request everyone and urge you to forever remember, take care of this brittle
and fragile jewel and please do not use it for selfish reasons and in the
process, hurt anyone’s feelings.
Let’s weigh
our words well before we utter them.
